Sculpted of cold-cast resin and painted in muted tones that leave him seemingly sculpted of brass, is depicted the ruler of the Norse pantheon, Odin. It was he who received the souls of valiant warriors that died in battle and the women he favored become the legendary Valkyries. Primarily the lord of wisdom, war, battle, and death he was also known to have held sway over magic, poetry, prophecy, victory, and the hunt. Here he is shown sitting regally upon his throne, Hlidskjalf, from which he could see everything that happened in the universe, with a stern, bearded face. Girded for battle, he seems as though he could be overseeing a council of war, with his ravens Huginn and Munninn (thought and memory) close at hand while the wolves Geri and Freki rest close by his feet, seeking the scraps from his table. Standing 10" tall and 8 " wide, this statue is perfect for any who revere the Norse pantheons.
